CERM provides science-based technical and regulatory assistance to manufacturers, processors and users of chemicals to ensure compliance with applicable laws in a timely and cost effective manner. Hazard and Risk Assessments can be conducted by CERM professionals to support new product introductions and to assess risks associated with existing chemicals under a variety of regulatory requirements. Specific services include:
- Hazard and risk assessments using EPA’s Pollution Prevention (P2) Framework methodology and Sustainable Futures Initiative
- Premanufacture Notification under TSCA including pre-assessment using the P2 methodology; preparation and/or review of PMNs; and shepherding PMNs through EPA’s review process, including negotiation of 5(e) Consent Orders when necessary
- Conducting TSCA audits and support of other TSCA compliance requirements
- Support of voluntary industry programs such as HPV (High Production Volume) and GCMP (Global Chemicals Management Plan)
- Turnkey global chemical registrations and testing strategy and implementation
- Support of company programs involving compliance with OSHA and TRI
